Managing Users

SmarterU has developed tools that make it easier for instructors to manage their students, or ?learners? in SmarterU-speak. A few of the features that SmarterU has implemented to make it easier for people to manage their learners are activity logs, bulk user imports, and contact cards. Using these features, you can quickly assign learners to specific courses and review individual quiz results. You can also see each learner?s activity history at a glance. This history includes things like course logins, course starts, and course completions. Quiz question review allows you to continually refine the testing process, based on actual learner performance stats.

Editing Courses

Using the DIY Course Builder, admins can create and manage as many courses as they need. Individual courses are broken down into chapters, tasks, games, quizzes, and exams. These courses can be categorized into folders, for easier management. Make your course stand out by adding things like graphics, videos, links, and tables. Adding images to a course is one way to illustrate important points, while links to external resources point learners in the right direction if they want to find out more about a topic. Unlike some competitors, SmarterU offers instructors the option of adding audio or narration to their course materials, as well as automatic PowerPoint uploads.

Creating Quizzes

Online training courses designed with SmarterU are more than just a vehicle for videos and PowerPoint presentations. With SmarterU, instructors are able to quickly generate chapter or module quizzes, along with exams, to ensure the learners taking their courses are paying attention and absorbing the material being presented.

SCORM/AICC/xAPI Support

In addition to creating courses, you can import any SCORM, AICC or xAPI (TinCan) course created by popular authoring tools from iSpring, Articulate, Adobe, Trivantis and others. Unlike many platforms, their interface to upload an external course module and launch it as a learner is truly effortless.

Executive Dashboards

SmarterU provides its users with the information necessary to make real-time, strategic decisions about the courses they?ve designed. Separate dashboard views are available based on a user?s role. SmarterU offers dashboards for administrators, supervisors, learners, instructors and teams. Ecommerce dashboards, waiting list dashboards, course dashboards, role automation dashboards, enrollment dashboards, organization dashboards, credits dashboards, ?points and rewards? dashboards, subscriptions dashboards, groups dashboards, and certifications dashboards are available, as well. Select your dashboard view to drill down and have an internal tab show you the results - a great way to switch back and forth quickly between different data sets. For example, clicking on the Ecommerce Dashboard provides you with a view of all your SKUs, which are lists of courses that can be sold through SmarterU?s ecommerce integrations. The Credits Dashboard, meanwhile, is where you?ll manage course credits for larger groups.

Generating Reports

Drilldown reporting enables admins to quickly assess how learners are progressing through their courses. This is one way that SmarterU recommends users assess the effectiveness of the training courses they?ve designed. With SmarterU, you can generate custom learner reports that you can save and re-use yourself, or make available to others. You can also schedule reports to generate automatically each day, week, or month. If you?re used to managing data in Excel, SmarterU has developed its own SmartGrids system that provides you with the same filtering capabilities. SmartGrids are integrated into all SmarterU reports.

Integrations

SmarterU integrates with a number of applications, including Microsoft ADFS, 1ShoppingCart, Google Apps, Okta On-Demand Identity Management, Salesforce 1 Service Cloud, Bitium, OneLogin, PayPal, and Shopify. SmarterU also allows you to sell ìcourse-seat creditsî if you are selling user/learner packages or bundles of courses ñ perfect for the Contract Training industry, or for Consultants who provide dedicated training packages to their clients.
