About LabelCalc

LabelCalc is online software that allows US-based food manufacturers to analyze their recipes and generate FDA-approved nutrition labels for product packaging. The software includes multiple FDA-approved standard label layouts and a USDA-compiled database which contains more than 18,000 ingredients found in the American diet. The web-based platform can be accessed from any computer, and securely stores all uploaded recipes. LabelCalc enables the creation of FDA-compliant nutrition facts panels in multiple formats, with support for vertical and horizontal, linear, side-by-side, and tabular labels. Users enter the ingredient quantities and serving size for their product, and LabelCalc automatically generates formatted labels which can be printed or downloaded in JPEG, TIFF, and BMP formats. If an ingredient is not present in the built-in database, users can add it manually. Voluntary nutrients can be added to labels, and LabelCalc also identifies allergens for creating allergen statements. LabelCalc’s product library allows users to keep all their recipes and analysis results in a single location, which can be accessed from anywhere. The software also allows multiple users to access and edit recipes, and individual recipes, such as dressings or sauces, can be saved as ‘preps’ to be quickly imported into future analyses. Recipes can also be duplicated and used to create variations.
