About Kanbanery

Kanbanery is agile visual project management software that aims to reduce waste and improve efficiency. It uses lean methodologies to manage Kanban boards, which are a visual PM tool and basis for implementation of the system. The name Kanban has been derived from the Chinese word for billboard or signboard and that’s why you see Chinese letters in software’s logo. The software is highly customizable and adds convenience through the iOS apps, which update the data in real-time. Users can easily create and copy task boards using the apps, while it also allows users involved in a task to access actions of other members working on the same task. Data can be uploaded into the software using CSV file format and it’s also compatible with existing systems. The reporting tools help identify bottlenecks and provide detailed information about status of ongoing work processes, including graphs and cumulative flow diagrams.

Kanbanery allows users to easily create cards and move them through columns as work completes.

It’s basically a notes-based system, which makes it very easy to organize things into lists and shows progress visually. The flexible system can be customized to suit a variety of projects and users can make their own board from paper notes and also the iOS app.

It all starts with a single board with three columns by default i.e. To Do, Doing and Done.

More columns can be added, their titles changed and limits set on the number of tasks a column can hold. This is what makes the system flexible as it can be easily configured according to individual needs. It also works well when projects involve complexity and allows collapsing specific columns when users need to hide finished tasks or extra columns. Similarly, tasks can be added and columns customized, while each card can be as detailed or simple as required.

Each card can have information like owner, level of priority, estimated time, type, effort required and son on.

Comments, attachments notes etc. can also be added to tasks, while it’s also easy to create subtasks and browse through history of each task. ‘Blockers’ allow adding specific reasons why particular tasks have not been completed yet and indicate what need to be tackled first. ‘Icebox’ is a separate place where you can store tasks that you may want to deal with in the future and can later be moved back to the board.
