About ABELMed EHR
ABELMed EHR is a clinical management software offering users facilities for appointment scheduling, patient management, medical recording, prescribing, billing, patient referral, chronic disease monitoring, and more.
ABELMed EHR’s physician dashboard offers users an overview of their schedule and tasks to be completed, with daily and weekly appointment breakdowns, patient encounters, investigations and lab results, pending and completed forms, and high-priority open tasks all available in a single interface. A patient manager also tracks the time of patients’ arrivals, their waiting periods, and their progression through the office.
ABELMed EHR allows users to record patient encounters in multiple ways, using a standard mouse and keyboard, through voice dictation, or using handwriting recognition for notes taken on a tablet. Integration with Dragon Medical enables users to create voice files wherever they are, which are then converted to text files and attached to patient records. ABELMed EHR also includes templates for standard encounters, such as hypertension, depression, or arthritis visits, which can be combined into a single encounter, with the option to add more information as necessary. Information can also be imported from previous encounters for the same condition, such as in follow-up visits for chronic diseases.
Users can receive lab results electronically through ABELMed EHR, automatically recorded in patients’ charts, with any additional comments. Results can be graphed, and can be viewed on-screen or printed out. ABELMed EHR’s prescriptions module detects potential drug interactions before prescriptions are finalized, and allows users to print or fax prescriptions directly from patients’ charts. Multiple medications can be renewed simultaneously, and users can create lists of their most commonly prescribed medications, and add non-formulary drugs to the database.
ABELMed EHR also offers referral management capabilities, with the ability to create referral letters from encounter notes and lab results, to track sent referrals, and which patients require follow-ups or referral responses. A built-in recall system generates lists of patients to be called in for health maintenance or prevention activities, including mammograms, pap smears, flu shots, and immunizations, to be sent reminder letters or called to book appointments.
